Ottawa Citizen.

Rosemount Inn is an 1850 Tuscany villa located in the heart of downtown Kingston, Ontario (Canada). Rooms are appointed with period antiques, ornate castings and arched, leaded windows. All accommodations have private baths, and some feature luxurious 'bubble bath deep' tubs. Our ‘Vinotherapy Spa’ provides a tantalizing menu of services, from massage to aromatherapy and aesthetics.

A Rosemount Inn getaway includes such special touches as warm cider or homemade ice tea with freshly made cookies  served every afternoon in the Victorian parlour. Our gourmet breakfasts are truly delicious, and each day is a different treat. Our Memory Lane Gift Shop offers many unique, handmade  items as well as our own special pillows that all our guests love. Victorian porcelain night lights, luxurious spa products, and of course, there is always a 'must have' piece of jewellery from Canadian artisans or a cuddly bear waiting to go home with you.

Kingston has so much to offer you—experience our gourmet dining or spa packages—a great way to enhance your holiday.

Rosemount Inn is a non-smoking facility.

We share the inn with Katie, a friendly Golden Retriever (not allowed in the guest rooms).

As a member of Ontario's Finest Inns, we are committed to providing the highest standard of hospitality and service to our guests. We invite you to come and experience Rosemount Inn for yourselves and we look forward to being your hosts.

The History of Rosemount:

Rosemount Inn is a historically designated building in the charming 'Old Stones' district of Kingston. This striking building, one of Kinston’s landmarks, is the work of English architect William Coverdale, who arrived in Kingston from Quebec in 1832.

"Rosemount of 1850, built for E.H. Hardy, a merchant, is a fine example of the increasing complexity of William Coverdale's designs in the late 1840s and 1850s. Its picturesque quality is enhanced by generous verandahs with French windows. At Rosemount,  the entrance is signalled by a tower and proclaimed by a clean-cut round headed arch- both elements echoing an earlier age. A tower on a house was unusual enough in the middle years of the nineteenth century in Kingston to cause a contemporary writer to characterize Rosemount as ' a standing point in the memory of many a passing stranger'." (From With our past before us - Nineteenth - Century Architecture in the Kingston Area. Author – by Jennifer McKendry.)

Rosemount has been a family home for many years and opened its doors to guests in 1990, providing gracious accommodation and a chance for guests to live within the historic charm of Kingston.

"The Rosemount, built in 1850, has a lovely atmosphere. I've rarely felt as comfortable away from home as sitting in the lounge over afternoon tea and cake with a cat slumbering beside me."
